Cord leader Raila Odinga has dismissed the appointment of Ramadhan Kajembe as the Kenya Ferry Service Chairman.
Mr Odinga who was speaking in Kaloleni said the appointment by the Jubilee government means nothing adding that Jubilee is only trying to hoodwink Coast residents into supporting it in the next general elections.
“So now they are giving appointments to old retired men. It is like feeding bones to a dog to stop it from barking,”he said.
“The appointment will not change the fact that Coast region is and will remain a Cord stronghold,” added Odinga.
Mr Kajembe who is the former Changamwe MP has however maintained that he will focus on his current job as he will not let his political ambitions affect his work.
Mr Kajembe who has pledged to help improve services at the Likoni Channel said he would work with concerned groups to ensure that the problems facing the ferry services are resolved.
Various incidences experienced at the Likoni Channel has not only affected businesses but also affected the tourism sector.
