Kalenjin elders also blessed the ODM party leader and gave him an okay to contest for the presidency in 2017.

He was crowned when he visited Mibeki Korona trading centre in Uasin Gishu before he flew to Tot in Kerio Valley to address peace rallies following increased cases of cattle rustling.

Raila called on the Kalenjin community to unite with other Kenyans to vote out the Jubilee administration next year.

He called on voters from the vote-rich Rift Valley to support his presidential bid, which he said aims at improving the livelihoods of Kenyans.

"Support me next year. I am capable of streamlining things in this country. I need you to help me remove Jubilee from power in 2017," he said as quoted by the Star.

He said the Jubilee administration has failed Kenyans since it has not fulfilled its campaign pledges.

He also used the occasion to criticise President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto of condoning corruption.

"They have stolen left, right and centre through National Youth Service projects, the Eurobond and other scandals," he said as quoted by the Star.

"They are yet to tell us where Eurobond money disappeared to along with other shares of public funds."

Raila is expected to run for the presidency and challenge President in the 2017 polls.

He did not garner many votes in 2013 after he fell out with Mr Ruto who by then was his right-hand man.
