Independent candidates in Homa Bay county have vowed to support the presidential bid of the National Super Alliance (Nasa) flag bearer Raila Odinga.
This is despite the candidates ditching the ODM party led by Raila after failing to clinch the party tickets during the part nominations.
The candidates revealed they had buried the anger they had with the Nasa leader and promised to drum up support for Raila.
“Even if we had won the party nominations and were rigged out, we would still have stood with Raila,” Kasipul Kabondo MP, Silvance Osele said.
“With political stakes high and all eyes pointing to Raila, it would be wrong for me to stand in his way to success,” Independent Homa Bay senatorial candidate Fred Rabongo said.
“This election is crucial for every one of us. Each one’s votes counts. No one will write us off simply because we are running as independents. No, we also support similar goal…Raila for president,” Rabongo added.
