Opposition chief Raila Odinga has received surprise backing as he jets out of the contry to UK 16 days to the repeat polls. Teachers Union KUPPET has warned Jubilee that it will join NASA’s weekly protests if the government goes on with amending election laws. Through its national chairman, Omboko Milemba, KUPPET stated that they will oppose that threaten Kenya’s unity.

Addressing teachers on Satarday in Siaya County, MP Omboko Milemba urged his members to oppose constitutional mutilation.

"We need to oppose these laws as they will affect everyone," Omboko said.

Omboko accused Jubilee of being too egocentric to care about the plight of Kenyans. He stated that most politicians affiliated to Jubilee are only out to massage their masters’ egos.

Milembe likened President Uhuru Kenyatta to his father Jomo Kenyatta who changed the law to tame opposition from the then Vice President President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.

"What Kenyatta did is what President Uhuru is also applying to ensure that anybody in the corridors of IEBC and Judiciary can announce and swear him in as the president without Chebukati and Maraga," Milembe said as reported by the Star.

He asked to resist the proposed changes to the constitution. He said that such ammendments will take Kenya back to the dark days.
