Raphael Wanjala (Budalang'i) said on Monday that Raila is the only NASA co-principal with a majority following in the country who has the capacity to wrestle leadership from the Jubilee administration.

In an interview with Daily Nation, Wanjala said the other co-principals, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula are cowards.

"When the other man was told to go and take oath as the people's deputy president, he started giving excuses," the MP who wrestled the Budalang'i MP seat from Ababu Namwamba said.

"Raila does not vote for himself, Raila has supporters who vote for him. When NASA was formed, its objective was to take over the government, but that did not happen. We have our candidate in ODM for 2022 and that is Raila unless the voters themselves tell him not to run."

An MoU signed between Raila and Kalonzo in 2013 and 2017 said Kalonzo would support Raila during the two polls and Raila would in return support the Ukambani political kingpin in 2022.

Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula have all expressed interest in contesting for the presidency in 2022.
