The same message was reechoed recently by Busia Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa who said the future of Kenya is in the hands of Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking in Kisumu on Saturday, Wangalwa called on former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula to support the former Prime Minister for the Presidency in the next general elections.

Wangalwa said Kenya has lagged behind in development because of poor governance and increased cases of corruption.

The outspoken Deputy Governor also said both Kalonzo and Wetangula qualify to run for the presidency but Raila stands a better chance of unseating President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017.

He called on the two co-principals to support Mr Odinga as he looks forward to run for the Presidency.

“We will persuade our leaders Kalonzo and Wetang’ula to willingly rally behind Odinga. We believe he will become the flagbearer,” Wangalwa said, as quoted by the Star.

He also pointed out that Kenyans have been languishing in poverty yet the nation has resources to take care of their needs.

“It is unfortunate Kenyans live in abject poverty yet there is a government in place in which a few individual enrich themselves through mega graft,” he said.
