Mr Odinga said that NASA intended to mobilise its supporters in its strongholds to burn Uhuru Kenyatta portraits and start collecting taxes from the people

''We will now tell our people to begin to burn President Uhuru's portraits in all our strong holds, torch them. We will begin to collect taxes from our people in our strongholds so that we can now move on with two parallel governments,'' Raila said.

The NASA supremo spoke in the United Kingdom in an auditorium where Kenyans in the diaspora had gathered to listen to him speak.

He went further to say that the reason he did not follow through on that plan was to prevent the country from burning.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mr Odinga met and shook hands, forestalling that prospect of parallel governments.
