Cord leader Raila Odinga has revealed how the late Cabinet Minster William Ole Ntimama helped him during the grand coalition government.
Odinga who was speaking on Tuesday revealed that Ntimama stood by him when he was being critiized by politicians over his calls to have famillies living in the Mau forest evicted.
"The late Ntimama defended me when i was facing tough political onslaught from my opponenets due to the Mau forest issue," Odinga said on Tuesday while rembering memories with the former politician ahead of his burial slated for Wednesday.
The former Prime Minster urged resident among living near the forest to preserve the watercatchment complex in hour of Ntimama.
"In his honour we should preserve the Mau forest to ensure its existence for generations to come," said Odinga.
The opposition chief was speaking during a requim mass in honour of Ntimama at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.
Ntimama who was then the heriatge minster defended the Odinga stating that his actions will go along way in assiting future generations.
The Mau issue was the begining of a fallout between Odinga and the then Eldoret North lamaker William Ruto.
Ntimama died on September 1, 2016 at his Narok home and he will be laid to rest on Wednesday at his residence.
