The National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga has dismissed the recently released KPMG report on the IEBC voter register.
Speaking to Radio Maisha Tuesday morning, Raila described the report by the audit firm as a major betrayal of the people of Kenya.
"Nothing was cleaned as alleged. The report did not achieve its primary purpose of restoration of public confidence in the register of voters," said Raila.
The former Prime Minister said dead voters were still on the register and among them is his late son, Fidel Odinga.
"They are saying they cleaned-up the register, how comes my son, Fidel, is still in the register yet he died in 2015? The late Jacob Juma, who died in May 2016, is still there. KPMG did a shoddy work," he noted.
In its report, KPMG recommended the removal of 92,277 dead voters from the register before the August elections.
It said the over 90,000 dead voters are in the list of 621,832 deceased persons provided by the Civil Registration Department (CRS) for the period between 2012 and 2016.
The former Prime Minister further revealed that as the Opposition they were closely monitoring every undertaking by the IEBC ahead of the August 8 polls.
"We have repeatedly said that NASA will not accept a rigged election. Election doesn't happen all over sudden on the voting day, it is a long process. But IEBC should know we have people everywhere watching every step they make. They better not try any monkey business this time round," the ODM leader added.
