Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has openly clarified that NASA is no longer a whistleblower after joining the government.
He said that NASA's new mandate is to fight graft in Kenya through whichever means. He said this while addressing members of ODM party, during the annual National Executive council meeting in Mombasa on Monday 18th June.
Raila's sentiments come just days after President Uhuru ordered all leaders to undergo a lifestyle audit, in a bid aimed at curbing corrupt individuals in government.
"NASA coalition is no longer a whistleblower after joining the government, but a key player in the fight to uproot corruption in Kenya through whichever means. Lifestyle audit is good for kenya.we are in it fully and personally, i am ready for it."
Raila further revealed that he was among those who pioneered lifestyle audits for leaders when he was in power in 2003 as NARC.
He also raised concern over claims that EACC officials and other investigating agencies would experience threats and interferences from key top Government officials involved in graft.
"The corruption suspects include the high and mighty in Government. The director of public prosecutions and the DCIO will come under severe challenges with regard to capacity and the rings of cartels run by key top Government officials and leaders,"said Raila.
