ODM leader Raila Odinga on Monday claimed the Jubilee administration was banking on either fallout in the opposition alliance, NASA or rigging to win this year’s general election.
Raila assured supporters that the opposition will stick together to the end to win the August 8 elections.
"It is putting all its hopes for re-election on only two things; a fallout in NASA, which will not happen and rigging the elections in August which we will not allow," he said in his address statement at the Bomas of Kenya.
The NASA co-principal said the President Uhuru Kenyatta–led administration has failed Kenyans in the four years it has been in power and that it was time for Kenyans to send it home.
The former Prime Minister made the statements when he presented nomination certificates to over 800 aspirants who have been declared by the party's National Election Board as unopposed candidates for governor, senator, MP, woman rep and MCA seats.
He tasked the candidates to vigorously campaign for the party and NASA to win the polls.
“Those of you who have been awarded their certificates today and those to be awarded in the weeks ahead will be tasked with getting out our message across and making people vote for that message.”
“It is my expectation that our people will read the signs right and elect leaders who believe in our agenda for the country and who have the courage to stand by that agenda through thick and thin,” he said.
He further asked the politicians to conduct themselves with decorum, maturity and honesty during the ODM nominations which kick off on Friday in 26 counties.
