Photo: Hassan Joho/ facebook.comHaving come short of his Presidential bid three times , ODM leader Raila Odinga has affirmed the party's commitment to conduct credible nominations ahead of the August polls.Speaking in Mombasa when he met the party's aspirants from the six Coast counties on Saturday, Raila said the party cannot afford to repeat its past mistakes of conducting shambolic primaries which have largely been blamed for crippling his presidential dream.Dismissing claims that the party has preferred candidates for various positions, the former Prime Minister asked the aspirants to desist from making wild allegations which he said will fuel animosity within the party structures. While acknowledging the enormity of the task ahead, Raila said the party has received many applications from aspirants, but assured them that the party's National Elections Board led by Judy Pareno is equal to the task.In order to consolidate the party's support bases, Raila asked all the losers during the nominations to support the winners and warned them against ditching the party.Backing Raila's statement, ODM Secretary General Dr Agnes Zani noted that decamping to the rivals' camps after the nominations will give them fertile ground to encroach their territories.
