The National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga has disclosed why he is not busy campaigning ahead of the October 26 presidential election despite his main competitor President Uhuru Kenyatta hitting the ground.
Speaking during a press conference on Thursday at the Wiper headquarters in Nairobi, Raila said he is absent on the ground since he has his foot soldiers campaigning for him.He however noted he will hit the ground after proposed changes are made in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ahead of the repeat poll."I have soldiers on the ground who are campaigning for him. We have a huge support base so Kenyans already know who there president will be. Forget about the self-imposed Jubilee administration," said Raila. The opposition revelations came moments after Uhuru's lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi took to social media to claim the former prime minister was busy holding demos yet the president is seriously campaigning. "A foreigner visiting Kenya will be very surprised by the strategies of the 2 presidential candidates. HE Uhuru is campaigning all over the country trying to improve on his 8.2 m votes. Hon Raila is leading demonstrations and addresses at least one press conference a day," noted the lawyer.
