National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Amolo Odinga has said that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) denied the opposition a chance to access its servers because it was ‘hiding evidence.’
Speaking after a 12 hour Judgment by the Supreme Court, Raila said it is evident that the commission did not want the opposition to know what exactly transpired during the August General elections.
“IEBC were in contempt of court because they were hiding something. That is why they could not account for their servers,” he said, as quoted by Tuko.co.ke.
He also asked the commission to ensure that it conducts a free and fair fresh election. According to the former Prime Minister, who is taking a fourth stab at the nation’s top seat, the election outcome of the August exercise was computer generated.
“Kenyans who come out to vote must know that their votes count. It is not that we are afraid of the election, but we will not be subjected to another sham process again,” Raila added.
The opposition has also dismissed claims of plotting to boycott the October exercise.
