While addressing the Alliance’s supporters at the historic Kamukunji grounds on Wednesday, Odinga defended the opposition protests saying they were legal and guaranteed by the Constitution.
The former prime minister thanked his supporters for always going to the streets even when they know tear gas awaits them.
“The right of the people of Kenya to protest must be respected. Thank you for coming out to protests against IEBC. Shows you don’t fear tear gas,” he said.
He reiterated their stand that they cannot face their main rival-Uhuru Kenyatta with the same people (current IEBC secretariat) who bungled the August 8 process.
Odinga said: “Unless the 12 irreducible minimums we gave IEBC are met, there won’t be any credible elections in this country.”
