Addressing the media at his private offices in Upper Hill on Monday together with the other Cord co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula, Raila promised what he termed as 'fiery protests' come next week.

This was after their attempt to storm the IEBC headquarters at Nairobi's CBD was thwarted by the Police.

"The struggle continues. Next week I promise you that things will be fiery as we will have the mother of all anti-IEBC protests," said Raila.

Raila added that President Uhuru Kenyatta will not intimidate them by using state machinery to silence them.

"If Uhuru and his cohorts think they can intimidate us by using the police, then we are telling them to brace for a fight with all Kenyans whom they can't defeat," Raila said.

He added: "We are saying here and now that we are not joking, and we will continue with our countrywide protests until they agree to talks whether they like it or not."

Musyoka warned the police against using excessive force on protesters saying that the international community was watching.

"Let the Police take notice because if they do not do so the international community is," said Kalonzo.

Meanwhile, Ford Kenya leader Senator Moses Wetangula accused the police of using live bullets to disperse the protesters.

"These two cartridges were picked by our people outside City Hall which was the epicentre of action today though the police are in denial. This is unacceptable," Wetangula said.
