[Photo/capitalfm.co.ke] The National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga has strongly criticised the police brutality meted on University of Nairobi students during their demonstrations on Thursday, September 28.In video clips doing rounds on social media, police are seen beating the students with batons and hurling teargas into classrooms and hostels after the demonstrations.Reports indicate several students have been admitted in hospitals and are in critical condition while others have been treated and discharged following the police torture.Speaking in Busia county on Sunday during a Nasa rally, Raila condemned the incident saying police should in charge of protecting Kenyans and and nit mishandling them.The opposition leader further told President Uhuru Kenyatta that the blood of the students spilled by the GSU officers is in his hands.“I want to tell Uhuru, the blood of our people is in your hands. We demand a stop to police brutality. Freedom to picket and protest is in our constitution. Police are civil servants and must protect all Kenyans when executing their duty of maintaining law and order," Raila is quoted by Tuko.The students were protesting the arrest of former Sonu leader, Babu Owino.
