NASA leaders will not seek permission from State House to travel abroad, opposition leader Raila Amolo Odinga has told President Uhuru Kenyatta.

This after an incident in which Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka was allegedly blocked from leaving the country elicited mixed reactions from different factions.

Raila, who is taking a fourth stab at the presidency, has said that he will not allow the Jubilee regime to frustrate the leaders of the opposition. The vocal politician also said that President Uhuru Kenyatta is a ‘caretaker president’, adding that he needs to respect the constitution.

“We wish to inform the Jubilee administration that our leadership doesn't intend to seek any clearance from State House to travel abroad,” he said.

The NASA leader also said that the government will not trample upon the rights of Kenyans as enshrined in the constitution, adding that the nation is democratic and opposition leaders have freedom.

“The Kenyan Opposition must remain free as a legitimate part and parcel of the Kenyan political landscape and be allowed,“ he said.

The government has however dismissed claims of the opposition terming them as baseless and ill-motivated.
