Described as 'iconic democratic fighter', thousands of Zimbabweans for a moment, erupted into songs and dances when Raila moved to the podium to address mourners.

Tsvangirai, an astute defender of democracy, succumbed to colon cancer in a South African hospital after years of battle.

"Zimbabwe is my home and I am happy to be around. Morgan is a great son of Africa," said said as songs and praises colonised the atmosphere.

Earlier, Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) had honoured Raila terming him a 'true freedom fighter' moments to the Tuesday's funeral.

"Mzee (Raila) is a true friend of MT and we are prevailed to have him with us hear," he said in a tweet.

At the podium, Raila's humour and crowd polling tactics played at their best like a typical rally in Nairobi's Uhuru Park.
