ODM party leader Raila Odinga is set to visit Garissa County on Thursday on a voter registration drive, before holding a major rally in the town.
This is according to a statement from the ODM Secretary General Agnes Zani, who confirmed Raila's planned visit.
“The ODM party leader will pitch tent in Garissa County on Thursday, where he will inspect voter register before holding a mega rally,” read a statement from Zani.
Sources reveal that the opposition shall also be showing their full support for former Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim, who is vying for Garissa Township parliamentary seat in a bid to unseat the current Garissa Township member of Parliament Aden Duale in the August 2017 elections.
On Saturday, the opposition backed Maalim's bid saying that he is the only man in Garissa County to ‘silence’ Duale.
“This is Farah Maalim and is our medicine for this Duale. He will deliver the seat as early as expected,” said Governor Issack Ruto.
