While speaking to Reuters, an international media outlet, Raila Odinga suggested the formation of an interim government as a stop-gap solution to the political crisis gripping the country.

The veteran opposition leader shed more light on that suggestion while speaking in Washington today at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies.

''We want an interim arrangement similar to what happened in South Africa between Clerk and ANC where both sides provided people to handle issues of state on an interim basis before an election is held. That is what we are suggesting.'' Raila Odinga said, responding to a question from the moderator of the discussion.

Odinga's latest remarks on the issue of interim government now add more clarity to what his suggestion meant.

Jubilee legislators have already vehemently voiced their opposition to any suggestion of a shared government between NASA and the ruling party.
