Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a wants Cord leader Raila Odinga to record a statement with the police over his claims that the Jubilee government is allegedly using the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to import voters.
According to the Thika lawmaker, Raila’s remarks amounts to incitement and could easily plug the country into chaos.
Speaking to reporters in Thika town on Thursday, the vocal MP accused the Cord leader of speculating false information.
“Raila’s remarks that Jubilee government is using NIS to import voters could easily burn this country,” she said.
The MP stated that such careless remarks led to the 2007/2008 post-election chaos.
“We cannot allow people like Raila to burn this country,” she said. The MP accused the former Prime Minister of allegedly plotting to cause chaos in the country ahead of the August 8 polls.
Raila during a rally in Kilifi on Tuesday alleged that NIS is being used to register Ethiopians and Ugandans in the ongoing voter registration exercise.
The Cord leader claimed that he has evidence to support his claims adding that the opposition will not allow Jubilee government to rig the August 8 general elections.
A section of Jubilee leaders led by President Uhuru Kenyatta have however rubbished Raila’s claims as sheer propaganda.
