Those who spoke say that this is an act of leadership to the nation since Ruto was innocent and they believe Raila testifying would be influential to the case.

Jayson Gachaga, a businessman in Thika, said that it was a high time for Raila to make the move of telling the world the truth.

Gachaga said that Ruto was as innocent as the President Uhuru Kenyatta and the case at The Hague was a waste of time since there was no tangible evidence to convict the president.

“Uhuru was innocent, same as Ruto. All this controversy is just waste of time and Bensouda should just give up on the case,” said Gachaga.

Esther Wanjiru, a hairdresser in Juja Sub County lauded the Cord leader and urged other leaders who might have information on the case to share it.

Odinga confirmed he was ready to testify in in the case but the deputy president has not yet approached him officially over the same.

Raila had stressed that ODM was not involved in any way during the 2007/2008 post-election violence that left hundreds dead.

The residents were all speaking on Sunday in Kiambu County.
