According to Abdalahi Boru, the former prime minister should now stop reaching out to the Central part of the country and the North Rift because residents in those areas have already made up their minds and it will be futile trying to convince them otherwise.

Speaking on television interview, Boru instead asked Odinga to focus his energy on wooing the South Rift region especially the Narok areas, Upper Eastern comprising of the Ameru and the Coast Province adding that residents in those areas are less fanatical and could be convinced to vote either way.

"Odinga needs to stop reaching out to Central province and the North Rift areas because guys there have already made up their mind on where they are voting. However if he focusses on the South Rift areas especially in Narok,Upper Eastern areas of Meru and the Coast Provinve then he could spring a surprise," he said.Political pundits have already categorized the said areas as battlegrounds meaning they could vote either way during the August 8 polls.Cumulatively the three regions have an estimated 3.7 million voters and no doubt whoever rops them in will have a headstart in an election that is touted to be too close to call.
