Moses Wetangula and Mike Sonko spoke on different levels with Wetangula blowing his own trumpet and Sonko calling on the support of Kalonzo Musyoka for presidency. Sonko even offered to ditch the Jubilee alliance and join Cord if his wish is actualised.

However, it is only appropriate that Cord leader Raila Odinga support Kalonzo Musyoka for the 2017 general elections.

Raila has had a long stint in the political arena of the country and it will only be fair to let others also make a mark in the country's politics.

For Cord coalition, supporting Kalonzo Musyoka at this time will help stop the rebellion being witnessed and will also attract more members to the coalition.

On the other hand, Moses Wetangula should drop his presidency bid and let Kalonzo take the helm at Cord coalition. The political experience that Kalonzo has is way better than that of Wetangula and this can give the coalition a lifeline in the 2017 elections.

Raila Odinga should provide political expertise by advising the coalition on various matters but not campaign for presidency again.

Today, the Luhya community is decamping the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) which is a constituent of Cord and this can only mean disaster for the party.

They have cited unfairness in nominations especially at the helm of the party and Raila Odinga should be wise to step aside and let Kalonzo be the flag bearer of the coalition.

This will bring an end to the coalition's tribulations and give them a lifeline with Jubilee alliance that is currently having an upper hand for 2017.
