Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has echoed the need to invest in building relationships among the various stakeholders in the governance of counties.
He made the remarks in a speech delivered on his behalf by Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri, during closing of the 3rd Annual Legislative Summit.
Raila who was slated to be the chief guest in the closing ceremony, decried lack of clear separation of roles in the county such that mandates of various leaders remained vague to the citizenry.
He called on the leaders to embrace a clear demarcation on their duties as stipulated by law so that leaders should be blamed for their rightful failures.
Odinga urged MCAs to steer clear of any events resulting to a conflict of interests for them to be effective in their oversight role.
Several governors were also present during the event which brings together MCAs and Senators from across the country.
The event which was opened by Deputy President William Ruto on May 22, ended on Thursday, May 24 at Pride Inn, Mombasa.
