Things got out of hand when the youths learnt that Raila Odinga would not grace the event as earlier publicised.

ODM secretary general Agnes Nzani and Kibra MP Ken Okoth had confirmed that Odinga in company of Nairobi governor Evans Kidero and co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula would attend the unveiling of the ultramodern learning facility.

When Okoth rose to the podium to explain to the youths Odinga's absence, he was jeered and pelted with stones forcing him to run from the podium.

Okoth later said that they will plan 'a proper' official inauguration of the project soon although he did not specify the time.

Asked by journalists why Odinga and other high profile leaders failed to attend, the legislator simply replied, "No comment," leaving the place in a hurry.

It is yet to be established why Odinga skipped the unveiling as neither Odinga or ODM had given any statement concerning the event.
