NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga  has launched an attack on Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

The former prime minister, who spoke during opposition rally in Machakos, said that the governor has been concentrating on advertising himself instead of initiating projects in the region, adding that his days are numbered.

"Mutua has been busy buying advertising space in newspaper to hoodwink the people of Machakos," said Raila, as quoted by Standard.

On his part, Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka said Mutua and other leaders who defected from Wiper will be in for a rude shock during the forthcoming polls.

The lawmaker asked the  residents to reject Mutua and other defectors when that time. Kalonzo also took a swipe at the current leadership for copying his ideas while citing free secondary, which he argues was his brainchild.

"When I was campaigning in 2007, I was the first to assure Kenyans that under my government, there will be free secondary education. I am now Raila's running mate. We will ensure there is a supplementary budget and no student will pay school fees from September," said Kalonzo.

Mutua is contesting against Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti and his Deputy Bernard Kiala.
