Cord leader Raila Odinga in the last minute cancelled his Taita Taveta trip that was scheduled for Wednesday after what is believed to be wrangles by MCAs in the county.
Residents had gathered at the Sowele grounds waiting for him only to hear that Mr Odinga had instead snubbed them and flown to Kwale.
Although his office said that the cancellation came as a result of Odinga’s need to quickly address a matter concerning the national IEBC talks, it is believed that he did so after open disagreements between Governor John Mruttu and Wundanyi Member of Parliament Thomas Mwadheghu.
Mwadeghu however promised that he would resolve his differences with Mruttu and make a public address soonest.
"We have agreed to sit down and iron out our differences so that we can resolve this issue. We shall address a public meeting at the same grounds," said Mwadeghu.
All might not be lost for the residents as Odinga is again expected to hold rallies in Wundanyi, Voi and Mwatate later in September.
