Photo/nation.co.ke.Opposition coalition National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential contender Raila Odinga has for the first time broken his silence on Thursday's court ruling that dismissed an earlier ruling on the ballot paler printing row.
An appelate court on Thursday upheld an appeal by the Iebc to have Dubai based Al Ghurair print presidential ballot papers contrary to Nasa's position that the firm is biased.
And on Monday Raila said the ruling was arrived at following threats and intimidation from the Jubilee government which he said is hellbent in undermining the independence of the juduciary.
"Last week's court ruling on the ballot paper printing issue was clearly skewed towards the Jubilee side which has been intimidating the courts.President Kenyatta had earlier attacked the judiciary and it is no doubt that the ruling was made out of fear," he told Radio Jambo..
Nonetheless Odinga said they would abide by the ruling si that the country cab hold polls on August 8 but asked the Iebc to ensure ththey preside over a credible election.
Nasa had earlier filed a petition before the High Court challenging the award of the tender to Al Ghurair and the three benched judge ruled in their favor only for the Iebc to file an appeal later challenging the court's decision to cancel part of the tender.
The subsequent appeal was however upheld with the appeal court ruling that public participation was not mandatory as long as the tendering process had been approved to be above board.
