According to Odinga, he loves and respects Kikuyus just like any other community in the country and across borders.

Speaking at Makutano in Meru during a voter campaign rally on Thursday, Raila said that he will equally champion for the rights and welfare of all Kenyans if elected President in the August 8 general elections.

“I have never been and will never be enemy of Kikuyu’s,” he said as.

Raila said that some vocal politicians are inciting the Mt Kenya region against him.

“My government if elected in August will fight for equality of all tribes,” said the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader.

Raila noted that he has enjoyed cordial relationship with Mt Kenya over the last decades and the same will continue.

The Cord leader asked Mt Kenya politicians to stop feeding locals with lies against him.

Last week Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu asked Mt Kenya locals to register as voters in large numbers to make sure that President Uhuru Kenyatta is re-elected in the August polls.

Waititu allegedly told locals they will be forced to wear shorts if Cord leader Raila Odinga wins the August 8 polls.
