Opposition leader Raila Odinga has given his stand on politicians vying as independent candidates.
The NASA flag-bearer said he has no problem with any candidate from his ODM party who will contest as an independent candidate in the coming general elections.
He urged all aspirants who took part in the just-concluded party primaries to now shift on the bigger picture of ensuring NASA ascends to power in August.
“Let us now put the nomination behind us and concentrate on the ultimate goal of capturing power in August polls,” Odinga said.
His sentiments come after several candidates resigned from the party after a nominations process in which allegations of unfairness were thrown at the party.
“I respect their choice because it is their constitutional right to vie for any elective seat as independent candidate. I wish them well,” he added.
