National Super Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga has rubbished President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto’s offer to give Nasa co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka a job in Jubilee.
Uhuru had earlier on during a jubilee past rally called on Kalonzo to Join Jubilee government and work with his deputy Ruto.
“I want my brother Kalonzo Musyoka to come and join us so that we can work together. When I leave office I will leave him with my deputy to continue working. I am begging him not to allow Raila to mislead him,” Uhuru said.
Raila has however termed the president’s offer as an insult to the Wiper leader adding that Kalonzo is better off in Nasa than Jubilee.
“Uhuru said that Kalonzo needs to work with William Ruto so that he can become his deputy in 2022 and continue all the way to 2032,” Raila posed.
“To ask Kalonzo to join Jubilee and wait until 2022 to deputise Ruto is an insult,” Raila added.
On his part, Kalonzo rejected the offer saying Jubilee was mocking the Kamba community. He further expressed confidence that Nasa will defeat Jubilee in the August 8 polls and therefore he had no reason to join the losing team.
“Asking me to join them with offers to deputise Ruto in 2022 is a mockery to the Kamba community that has suffered under their leadership and we must teach them a lesson at the ballot,” said Kaolonzo.
“We are sure of winning this election, we have the vote numbers across the country to send Jubilee administration packing,” he added.
Raila and Kalonzo spoke at Kyusyani in Kitui County, Thursday, during a Nasa campaign rally.
