Deputy President William Ruto has said NASA leader Raila Odinga sponsored a militia to ensure no voting takes place in his region.
Speaking to CNN on Saturday afternoon, the DP said Raila cannot claim people boycotted the repeat presidential poll.
"It is true about 9% of voters were denied a chance to vote. And this happened because our competitor sponsored a militia to cause violence," the DP said.
He added: "If it is true that people want to boycott poll in those regions, let him remove the sponsored militia to allow voting materials and electoral officers then we see if people will not vote."
Ruto was responding to questions over low voter turn out in the repeat poll which has been mentioned as one thing that might deny President Uhuru Kenyatta legitimacy.
