NASA Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga has intensified his campaigns as he seeks to rise to power.
Speaking in Tharaka Nithi, Raila asked the residents of this part of the nation to join him in the walk to The Promised Land. The Former Prime Minister, 72, promised to ensure that the youths from this region and entire Kenyan get jobs once he takes over leadership on August 9.
“... hapa tumekuja kama wakulima wa kahawa, wa majani chai na najua wako na shida ... sisi tutahakikisha vijana watapata ajira...” he said. (“We have come here as coffee and tea farmers and we know they have problems [but] we will ensure the youth get employment.”), said Raila, who is contesting for the fourth time.
He also reminded the electorate that the journey to Canaan had official began, adding that Tharaka Nithi should be part of the change Kenya needs.
“Canaan is our destiny and Tharaka Nithi is part of the Kenyans heading to Canaan,” he said. The opposition leader further said that he will not allow rigging to take place during the election period. “Mara hii hakuna kuiba kura tena (This time round there will be no stealing of votes),” Raila said.
