NASA flag-bearer Raila Odinga was dealt a blow after his aide fled the country just hours to the general polls.

Salim Lone on Monday admitted having left the country fearing for his life despite having not received any threats.

According to the Standard, he chose to flee the country so he could hide from any probable threats after being shaken by the recent murder of senior IEBC official Chris Msando.

Lone has been Raila's advisor and was the main force behind key communication strategies by the NASA opposition alliance.

“I had no choice but to leave for my safety. But of course I am with the campaign 100 per cent and working with it,” he said as quoted by the Standard.
