National Super Alliance (NASA) Leader Raila Amolo Odinga has been dealt a major setback as he seeks to ascend to power after more than 1000 members of the Kamba community declared their support for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto. The members have assured President Kenyatta that they will rally the electorate behind Jubilee ahead of the fresh election.
The members, who reside in Nakuru County, under the leadership of their Chairman Gerald Kilonzo, said that Uhuru is the best man to change the economy of this nation, adding that they have made an informed choice. They spoke on Wednesday.
“It is impossible for us Kambas in Nakuru to align ourselves with those in the eastern part of the country because we have different ideologies and therefore we are stating we will back Jubilee Party,” he said.
The declaration of the community members to back Uhuru has left Raila a wounded man. The former prime minister is banking on the Luhya, Kamba and Luo among other communities to ascend to power. The opposition leader enjoys massive support from the Kamba community because of former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, who is eying the Presidency in 2022.
