A lonely NASA leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday took oath of office as people's president in absence of fellow co-principals.
In a fully packed Uhuru Park, police withdrew despite indications that they would have engaged NASA followers in running battles.
Earlier, the government had shut down all major media houses under unclear circumstances, a move that has led to social media outcry.
Interestingly, a charged Raila seemed to be disinterested with the absence of Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi despite an early indication that they would attend.
It is not yet clear why they missed but sources indicate that they switched off their mobile phones when Raila tried to reach them.
