Speaking on Sunday at A.C.K Cathedral St. Stephens Church in Nairobi, the Cord leader observed that financial compensation by the government for the 2007/2008 post-election victims was not enough to sustain the national healing efforts.

“This country requires reconciliation, this country requires cry for justice, people must reconcile and reconciliation does not mean to give people money. A life of a human being cannot be paid with cash money, we need proper reconciliation,” said Raila.

His sentiments were echoed by COTU secretary general, Francis Atwoli.

“I want to support Raila Odinga’s call for reconciliation and dialogue. This country requires reconciliation before next elections,” stated Atwoli.
