The leader of the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord), Raila Odinga has urged the public to desist from politics found on tribal grounds.
While addressing a multitude of people in Luanda town near Maseno University on Tuesday evening, the Cord principle said that tribal politics is a great enemy to national cohesion.
Raila said that it was high time Kenyans and their politicians focused on politics that brought oneness and also fostered development.
During his speech, the party leader also emphasised on the importance of young men and women to apply for national identity cards and also remember to register as voters. He said that by the young people registering as voters they will form what he referred to as “Agwambo’s Army” which will kick out the underperforming jubilee government.
He pointed various fingers of blame towards the Jubilee government saying it was unable to deliver its promises to its electorate.
First, he mentioned the undelivered laptop project and also the tarmacking of 10,000 kilometres of various roads connecting Vihiga and Kisumu counties.
He nonetheless continued to speak on the incurable levels of corruption manifesting during the Jubilee tenure. He said the flouting of public funds by corrupt politicians has led to a lot of suffering to the common poor citizen.
“Most of our hospitals are less equipped as money meant to equip them has been directed in pockets of greedy officials in government,” he said.
Finally, he urged the people to make rational and prudent decisions when the next general elections will come and elect upright people in offices so that their interest and problems be well addressed.
