The National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga has accused Jubilee administration of not enacting proper laws to deal with historical injustices and safeguard community land.
Odinga said the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led government had done little to address the problem by way of implementing the recommendations captured in the land chapter of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission report.
The ODM party leader castigated National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale for not playing his role in Parliament by ensuring that TJRC report was tabled in the house for debate.
"Remember at the burial of Ole Ntimama, Duale said the TJRC report would be tabled in Parliament but its term has ended without him tabling the report. This is neither a NASA issue nor a Raila issue. It is an issue of national importance," Raila said.
He was speaking in Kitengela on Tuesday evening where he continued to defend himself against incitement to violence allegations.
The Opposition leader has been heavily criticised by Jubilee leaders who allege that he incited the Maa community against ‘outsiders’ when he toured Kajiado county recently.
Raila said his remarks were not inflammatory insisting he only advised the locals not to sell their lands due to poverty.
The former Prime Minister said Jubilee leaders are part of the problems touching on land and will never provide a solution.
“How can they be part of the solution yet they buried the Kriegler commission report and the one by the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission that revealed the land mess in the country?” Raila was quoted by the Star.
The presidential candidate said wherever he goes, he will advise pastoralists not to sell their land, saying he is free to comment on any matters affecting Kenya.
