Raila Odinga in a past event. He is likely to announce his withdrawal from the repeat presidential race scheduled for October 26, according to Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen. [Photo: nation.co.ke]Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has alleged that NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga will on this Wednesday announce his withdrawal from the October 26 repeat presidential poll. This, Murkomen said, should not be a surprise to anyone as it will only be 'a confirmation of what we Jubilee have been saying that Nasa is not interested in polls but chaos and anarchy'."Let me tell you about the events that will unfold in the week. Raila will pull out of the race by latest Wednesday and fly out of the country. We also expect the court to decide whether or not Dr Ekuru Aukot will be on the ballot, which will likely be in the affirmative," Murkomen told Citizen TV's Sunday Live. The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, nevertheless, noted that the government is prepared to deal with any threat that Nasa may pose to the 'Kenyan State and its continued existence as an island of peace'.On the other hand, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and a Raila loyalist seemed to confirm Murkomen's allegations that Raila may indeed pull out of the race in a week's time."If our irreducible minimums are not met, there will be no election and we will tell you how in a week’s time. We do not want to go across the country campaigning just for results to be overturned," said Junet. He said Nasa has been keen and willing to participate in the presidential election but has realized that Jubilee has been keen to 'achieve the opposite'."We realize it is the people who count the votes who matter, not those who vote and that is why Jubilee wants to change rules of the game through the elections laws amendments to continue clinging onto power illegally," the MP added. He urged Jubilee to come down from 'their high horse and have a conversation with Nasa for the good of the country'.
