NASA leader Raila Odinga might be compelled to take part in the October 26, 2017 repaet polls. This comes after a Jubilee legislature filed a petition seeking to force Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka to take part in the rescheduled polls.
David Pkosing, MP Pokot South, states that the possibility of opposition boycotting the presidential election is a recipe for a constitutional crisis.
"NASA co-principal have publicly threatened that unless their demands for new electoral framework are met they will either prevent, impede, subvert or otherwise ensure by fair or foul, legal or illegal means that the fresh presidential elections will not be held," reads part of his six-page petition.
The legislature also said that if the two decides not to take part in the election is contempt of court.
His move is aimed at taming NASA who have threatened to shun repeat polls if IEBC reforms are not implemented according to their demands. They are pushing for resignation of CEO Ezra Chiloba among other things.
