With less than 8 days left to the August 8 elections, two opinion polls have revealed regions where President Uhuru Kenyatta and the National Super Alliance (Nasa) flag bearer Raila Odinga command a lot of support and where they have less support.
According to findings released by research firm Ipsos on Tuesday, August 1, Raila would beat Uhuru in Nairobi, Coast, North Eastern, Nyanza, Western, Lower Eastern, and pastoralists' Rift areas while his Uhuru would defeat the ODM leader in Central, Upper Eastern, and Central Rift.
The Ipsos poll that was conducted between July 3 and 12 saw 4,308 respondents interviewed.
According to Tom Wolf, the lead researcher, the survey was focused on the registered voters across the 47 counties.
Another poll released by research firm Infotrak on Tuesday indicated the former prime minister leads in Nairobi, Coast, Eastern, Nyanza and Western while the Jubilee leader has a command in Central, North Eastern and Rift Valley regions.
Infotrak survey was conducted between July 27 and 31. 5,000 respondents were polled across the 47 counties.
