The National Super Alliance (NASA) has announced a new plan in their bid to oust IEBC officials who allegedly facilitated electoral malpractice during the August elections.
The opposition now wants 12 officials at the electoral agency to quit. The Raila Odinga led side wants Commissioners Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu, Commission Secretary Ezra Chiloba and the head of the repeat presidential poll project team Marjan Hussein Marjan out of the management of the repeat presidential elections.
Further, NASA has demanded that Commission Deputy Secretary Betty Nyabuto as well as the ICT Director James Muhati, Legal Director Praxedes Tororey and Operations Director Immaculate Kassait out.
County returning officers for Kisii, Mombasa and Nakuru are the latest persons on NASA target. The coalition insists that it will be embarking on a countrywide plan of sensitizing the electorates on why it wants the 12 officials out of the October 17 exercise.
“We shall go around the country, sensitising people about our case against elections by the IEBC. We shall sensitise our people about the reforms that must take place before another election can be called,” Odinga said.
He warned that if the affected IEBC officials do not quit, “Kenyans” would go for them.
Mr Odinga stated on Sunday; “Institutions can’t reform. They are led by the people opposed to reforms, Kenyans are coming for you.”
The former prime minister affirmed that there will be no election with the named officials in office.
