The former prime minister will be on the ballot come 2022 as declared by ODM party leaders on Sunday the 4th of March.

The leaders who seemed undeterred by the memorandum of understanding signed by the four NASA principals before the much disputed 2017 general elections.

The MoU clearly stated that ODM would not front a presidential candidate in 2022.

However, the ODM  political leaders appeared not ready to implement this MoU.

This was made clear by the ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna during a church service in Mathare constituency.

Speaking at the church service, Sifuna claimed that they are not ready to support 'cowards' in 2022 thus referring to the NASA co-principals who skipped Raila's controversial "swearing in".The 'oath-taking' ceremony seemed to have split the coalition right from the centre.

Mr. Sifuna said that"If you were not at Uhuru park, do not come to us for consideration of any manner.You are simply a coward." 

A week ago the top brass leadership in the coalition downplayed the rift that has currently hit the outfit since the January 30th 'swearing in" of Raila Odinga as the 'peoples' president'.During the unveiling of ODM leadership a week ago, Raila said that disagreements in any house are a normal thing suggesting that NASA was still intact despite persistent claims of a looming break up.

The co-principals of the other affiliate parties of ANC, FORD-KENYA, and Wiper party are yet to respond to the new development in which they appear to have been short-changed by ODM.
