The Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga will visit Deputy President William Ruto’s Rift Valley home turf for two days, a source privy to the itinerary has revealed.

Raila who is currently on a tour of Taita Taveta and Kwale counties which will culminate on Saturday during the homecoming ceremony of ODM acting secretary general Agnes Zani.

And on Tuesday , the source who is among the top management committee currently organising the tour from Kisii town revealed Raila will hold mega rallies at in the South Rift regions of Chepilat, Sotik, Chepalungu and finally in Bomet town on October 1-2.

“We have been identifying ideal centres where the former PM shall hold rallies at the beginning of next month and we have been doing the preliminary research for the last four days in the South Rift,” said the source who spoke on condition of anonymity since he is not authorised to speak on behalf of the party.

“We have already identified Chepilat, Sotik, Chepalungu and Bomet town and all that remains is securing the venues from the respective authorities. We are expecting him after he concludes his Gusii region tour next week,” added the source.

ODM national Treasurer and Kitutu Masaba Timothy Bosire confirmed the tour saying the party is set to invade the Rift Valley region to thwart the influence of the Jubilee Party.

“Rift Valley is our target because it is now a swing region. As ODM, we will start by touring South Rift before invading other strategic regions,” he said.
