Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) Leader Raila Amolo Odinga has insisted that he will honor the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by NASA principals.
The remarks of the former Prime minister come after leaders from Ukambani lamented that he had failed to honor between Wiper and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Led by National Assembly Minority leader Francis Nyenze, leaders from Ukambani lamented that National Super Alliance (NASA) had given them a raw deal when Raila was named Presidential candidate.
Nyenze, however, changed his mind and agreed to rally the electorate behind Raila. During the interview, the opposition leader insisted that the agreement was more binding, adding that he will only rule for one term and then relinquish power to another candidate.
“I have not said that I will run again. But that (2013) agreement was frustrated by circumstances,” he said, as quoted by Nation.
The former prime minister also expressed concern over the preparedness of the Independent Boundaries and Electoral Commission as the election date inches closer.
“They are too economical with facts and information. They need to be more transparent. They still have officers whose conduct in the last elections still leaves a lot to be desired,” the ODM boss said.
