The National Super Alliance flag bearer (Nasa) Raila Odinga says if he takes power from Jubilee administration after the August 8 polls, his government will end the arbitrary arrests of Kenyan fishermen on Lake Victoria by Ugandan security officers.

Speaking at Siagonjo Stadium in Budalangi, Busia county, Sunday during a Nasa campaign rally in the region, Raila said he will meet Uganda’s president Yoweri Museveni to end frequent fights between Kenya and Uganda over Migingo Isaland.

“I will meet Museveni face to face to bring to an end frequent incidents where Kenyan fishermen are subjected to harassment by Ugandan police. I will also have the issue of Migingo Island solved once and for all,” said Raila.

He added that the Island belongs to Kenya and it will return to Kenya when he assumes power
