The breakfast meeting themed “Walemavu mbele pamoja na ODM”, will be held at Orange House on Tuesday.

ODM director of communications Philip Etale said in a statement 500 members of the Disability Caucus from across the country have confirmed participation in an event whose aim is to give hope to the disabled that even in leadership, disability is not inability.

The caucus interim chairman Nixon Kakiri said the forum, which is the first of its kind, has attracted participants from all the 47 counties with the sole aim of forging a united front ahead of the 2017 general election.

“We need to be recognised. We want a leader who takes into recognition the plight of persons with disabilities, and that leader is Mr. Odinga,” said Kakiri.

“Mr Odinga has been in the forefront in agitating for equal opportunities for everyone regardless of their physical status. He will be present to assure them of his support and encourage them to go for as many elective positions as possible in the forth-coming party nominations,” added the statement.

Members of Parliament and party officials have been invited to the event which is expected to kick off at 8am.
